The Medical Dosimetry Educational Program Curriculum Guidelines contains an outline of professional content areas important for educating medical dosimetrists. This current curriculum was updated in 2012 for Medical Dosimetry programs and will be in effect until August 31, 2020. The 2019 AAMD Curriculum Guidelines are now available for your review. These revised guidelines need to be implemented by September 1, 2020.
The main changes to the guide included updates on clinical competencies, a new section on intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT), and content on modern techniques such as automated planning and robustness in treatment planning. Input from the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) and the Joint Review Committee on Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) was incorporated in this revision.
