Donors are essential to the success of all Foundation programs. By donating time or resources you sponsor the future of the medical dosimetry profession and allow the AAMD Education and Research Foundation to serve our community. Varian Medical Systems has awarded the Foundation a total of $100,000 over the next two years. These scholarships will be given out in 2015 and 2016 to students entering formal bachelor programs in Medical Dosimetry.
Varian's Global Training program has agreed send up to 6 people to their Intro to Eclipse and IMRT week long training programs in Las Vegas. These seats will be available AAMD members who will be graduating from a dosimetry program (within 6 months), recently graduated CMD's (1 year or less out of school) and practicing dosimetrists in need of special assistance. Total value of this grant is estimated at $250,000 per year.
In 2014 AAMDERF lauched the Foundation Webinar Series as a new fundraising activity. This event hosted 4 webinars on Anatomy and Contouring and has generated over $10,000 in donations for the Foundation. We would like to thank the our participants for making this effort a success. Over 100 dosimetrists have watched this series and contributed to our scholarship fund.
