Medical Dosimetry Education Programs

Education is a great way to advance your career, and fortunately there are a number of options out there for medical dosimetry programs. The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) is the credentialing body for educational programs. On their website they keep an updated list of programs available and provide you with information on what they review to ensure a program meets certain standards. Depending on your current education level you have options from a certificate program, a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree. Below all the current accredited programs separated by the type of program it is along with a link to the programs homepage.

For more information on accredited programs, see the JRCERT website:

Starting in 2017, all US candidates will be required to have a Bachelor’s degree, and have graduated from a formal dosimetry program to be eligible for the boards given by Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB). Becoming a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) is a requirement by most employers since it ensures a certain level of education and understanding of our field. The MDCB does enforce a 3 attempt rule, which means you have 3 chances to pass the boards. If you do not pass within the 3 attempts given you must wait two years before you are able to requalify for the exam.

For more information regarding certification, see the MDCB website:
